What is a doula… and what do they do?

As a birth and postpartum doula, I specialize in empowering women and couples through the transformative journey of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. I believe that every woman deserves personalized support, encouragement, and advocacy during this sacred time. From helping you navigate the array of birthing options to advocating for your wishes in the delivery room and beyond, I am your dedicated ally every step of the way. I work collaboratively with medical professionals, ensuring that your voice is heard and your preferences are respected.

My style is very hands-on and holistic; my background as a Holistic Reproductive Health Practitioner, Massage Therapist with over a decade of experience, and Yoga Teacher will lend immensely to my ability to support you in the birthing space.

There is so much significance in feeling empowered and informed during these phases of building your family! I believe in the beauty and strength of childbirth and am committed to helping you achieve the birthing experience you desire, while providing you with compassionate support, personalized care, and the confidence to embrace the miracle of childbirth on your own terms. I would be honored to accompany you on this incredible journey, empowering you to welcome your baby into the world with joy, strength, and love!

Jenna's Testimonial…

I was so lucky to have Lexi’s support during the birth of my 2nd baby, Quinn. She was an integral part of the story and helped support me and my partner during an unmedicated, unpredictable birth of my little one, who was 9lbs, 14oz!

Lexi has this incredibly positive, encouraging, and fun presence that helped tremendously that day. I chose to labor at home on my own until it was time to go to the hospital and my partner called the support team as we left the house. Lexi was so enthusiastic and responsive and even beat us to the hospital. It was so comforting to see a friendly face when we arrived to check in. After arriving, my labor completely stalled at the hospital for hours and Lexi stayed upbeat, patient and supportive through it. She was so encouraging – at one point I put my hands under my pregnant belly and lifted a little and she commented how intuitive I was to do that as it was a great way to gently help baby’s position. She continually took the time to observe small moments like that and used every opportunity to encourage my own intuition. That helped me have more confidence to take the time and space to tune into myself and listen to my body. Which is a big deal for a recovering people-pleaser like myself.

While labor was stalled she massaged pressure points to encourage progression and suggested other things to help encourage the contractions to come back. And Lexi has these warm, magic hands. You just feel completely cared for when she is attending to you. She also helped me settle into side-lying position so comfortably that I fell asleep there for a bit and got some much-needed rest. And that seemed to help baby find a better position.

Eventually things got back on track and contractions were getting intense again, and Lexi stayed close and really helped my partner feel like he was where he needed to be, and doing what he could to support me. And we really appreciated that. When our little one was finally coming out, Lexi was on the side where his little eyes were starting to pop open and she grabbed my partner and helped him have that first moment of connection with baby. She prioritized our wants and wishes through everything, listened to our needs, gave us space when it was needed and confidently stepped right back in at the right moments. Lexi’s enthusiasm about birth is contagious and helps dispell the fear that can sometimes sneak in. Her enthusiasm, knowledge and support are part of the reason that I was able to have what turned out to be an incredibly beautiful, unmedicated vaginal birth of my second son, Quinn.
